April Boyer won the Young Professional of the Year Award from the QC Chamber Community Impact Awards on May 28, 2015. April Boyer has been described as a dynamo with an infectious spirit. As the Catering Sales Manager for the Isle of Capri, Boyer is responsible for 40,000 square feet of event space in Iowa's largest hotel complex. As the president of the Jaycees of the Quad Cities she oversees Brew Ha-Ha and the Bridal Expo, two celebrated fundraising projects benefitting a myriad of public service.
Boyer, an honoree for YP of the Year at the 2015 Community Impact Awards, says her dedication to public service started at a young age.
"I've been a volunteer since I grew up just down the street (in Bettendorf, IA), says Boyer. "We walked down to the Family Museum all the time and I volunteered there when I was really small." She continues, "In high school I started the Key Club and of course culinary arts clubs."
At the Isle, one of her favorite things to do is connect visitors with cool things to do in the Quad Cities.
"I like to give them new and fun things to do when they're here for their conference and meetings," she says.
Boyer cites Junes Iowa Association of Business and Industry Conference being held throughout the Quad Cities as a prime example of that connection. The conference, which will bring business people from throughout Iowa to the region, will be the associations first bike-friendly conference. "ABI is coming in June and they're doing an evening event in downtown Davenport, the tagtheQC Crawl. We are working with them to incorporate bikes and the bike path for transportation between the (Hotel) Blackhawk and the Isle," she says. "I think it is going to be really cool."
The Isle Bettendorf is now a Certified South Asian Event Vendor
Two members from the Isle's Sales Team have completed the South Asian Events Certification Program which certifies the property as South Asian Events Professionals. The property certification will enable us to service diverse events with respect to cultural differences and the ability to work with ethnic caterers (with approval).
